A fabulous new interactive novel game for Windows and Macintosh, fully translated to English! Yo-jin-bo ("The Bodyguards") is set in feudal Japan where the Mochizuki clan is wracked by a war of succession, and the clan princess -- a tomboy notorious for her misbehavior -- is the first target for assassination. The central storyline of Yo-jin-bo involves the princess's three eccentric bodyguards' attempts to save her from the sinister machinations of her would-be assassins. In the game you play the character of Sayori, a more-or-less ordinary high school student who is spending her summer vacation helping at an archaeological excavation. One day in the ruins, you happen to notice something shining half-buried in the mud. When you look more closely, you realize it is a pendant, and you pick it up . . . And thus the story begins.

That night, a girl appears to you in a dream, begging you to save her. She is Hatsuhime, princess of the Mochizuki clan, and she was murdered a hundred and fifty years ago. The pendant that you found is the only thing she left behind. The next morning, you wake up in a place you have never been before - a place that still feels strangely familiar. You are living in Hatsuhime's time, in Hatsuhime's castle, in Hatsuhime's body, and it is your job to save her from her tragic destiny. It seems impossible - until you meet a group of wandering samurai...

In Japan the Yo-jin-bo game has inspired two drama CDs, two music CDs and a graphic novel adaptation. The three bodyguards are voiced by some of Japan's top voice talent including Hiroki Takashi (Hunter x Hunter), Hideo Ishikawa (Bleach, Kingdom Hearts), and Masakuzu Morita (Gundam Seed Destiny).

This game is rated U-15, and is recommend for ages 15 and up.

Sayori

A more-or-less normal girl, and a member of her school’s history club, Sayori is guided by a mysterious pendant that she found on an archaeological dig.
Hatsuhime

Even beyond her own realm, this wild princess of the Mochizuki clan is famous for her misbehavior. Caught up in a war of succession, she is destined for a tragic death …

Yozaburo Shiraanui

His nickname is "Yo." He is said to be the descendant of a famous ninja family, but the details of his past are unknown. Although he looks quite young at first glance, he has a very sharp tongue.

Jinnosuke Murasame

His nickname is "Jin." Though he has neither education nor wealth, he still dreams of becoming a genuine samurai. A hot-headed man, he works as a bodyguard to polish his fighting skills. Although he falls in love easily, he’s not very good with women.

Tainojo Tsubaki

His nickname "Bo" comes from another reading of the characters in his name. Born into a noble samurai house, he has dedicated his life to following the way of the warrior. He is also interested in the paranormal.

Muneshige Tsukuba

The strongest swordsman in the Mochizuki clan, and a loyal servant of Princess Hatsuhime. Muneshige suffers from an unfortunate fondness for unconvincing impressions and terrible puns.

Monzan Kadokkura

An enigmatic monk who happens to be traveling with Yo, Jin, and Bo. Despite his incredible strength, he is very gentle. His companions have given him the cute nickname "Mon-Mon." Ittosai Tstsunami
A powerful enemy bound to Yo, Jin, and Bo by some deep fate, he is a madman who finds beauty in slaughter.

Nobumasa Ohno

Unlike his older brother Harumoto, Nobumasa looks every bit as aggressive as he actually is. Short-tempered and incredibly strong, he is not given to deep thought.

Harumoto Ohno

The Chief Inspector of the Mochizuki clan. He is endlessly resourceful and will stop at nothing to achieve his goals l.

Kasumimaru Fuuma

The leader of Harumoto’s ninja corps, Kasumimaru is a swift, silent assassin who never lets his target escape.
